Welcome to 2nd Grade ESL
San Jacinto Elementary

All About Ms. Albright
I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BA in History in December of 2000.  My original goal was to teach junior high or high school history.  I was lucky enough to find my home at San Jacinto Elementary before that happened.
I was originally hired here in August 2001 as the campus permanent substitute.  I fell in love with the students and was hired as a 1st grade teacher the following year.  I taught 1st grade for 14 years.  Last year I was offered a new challenge for this school year.  I'm so excited to be the 2nd grade ESL teacher this year.
My son Erik will be a 3rd grader this year.  Time flies!  I encourage you to enjoy every moment of 2nd  grade with your child.  It will be over before you know it.  I look forward to getting to know your children this year.  I can't wait to watch them grow and learn and make life-long friends.  It will be a time in their lives that will never come again.  I'm honored to be a part of it.
Contact me anytime with questions or concerns.

        Ms. Albright

My homeroom students will be with me every morning and Mr. Garza every afternoon.  Mr. Garza's homeroom students will be with him every morning and with me every afternoon.
The 1st week of school Mr. Garza will be teaching Language Arts in Spanish and I will be teaching Math, Science and Social Studies in English.  The 2nd week I will be teaching Language Arts in English and Mr. Garza will be teaching Math, Science, and Social Studies in Spanish.  We will keep the rotation up throughout the year.

Homework goes home on Monday and is due on Friday.
Graded homework will come home in Wednesday folders.

Daily Folders/Wednesday Folders
  • Daily Folders come home every day.  I will indicate your child's daily behavior on the enclosed calendar.  Please initial and send back each day.  This is also a great vehicle for teacher parent communication.  When homework begins it will also go home in the daily folder.
